Frequently Asked Questions about the Loop for Life

  1. Why should I pre-register for the Loop for Life? Pre-registering saves you $5 per person and time at the event site and lines are much shorter.
  2. Do I receive any type of confirmation that I’m registered? Yes, you will receive a confirmation e-mail or pop-up after you register on-line.
  3. Is the donation per person or bike? The donation is per person because we have a set cost per person for the event. Keep in mind, that we do try to give everyone a t-shirt, feed everyone both breakfast, lunch and provide drinks and we have cost associated to just have the event. T-shirts are our biggest expense.
  4. Who can ride in the Loop for Life? Any licenced motoryclist on any motorcycle. Parent or legal guardian must be present to sign a waiver for children under 16.
  5. Are helmets required? No, but recommended for safety.
  6. Is Lunch included or do I have to pay extra for it? No, lunch is included in your donation. We thank Jug's Catering for their donation and support.
  7. Who gets the money we raise? St. Mary's Child Center, Fairbanks, IU Dance Marathon to benefit the Ryan White Infectious Disease Center and  Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, received the majority of the funds we raised last year. Click on this link for more information.
  8. Does anyone get paid a salary to organize the Loop for Life? No, the entire staff is made up of volunteers including the Board of Directors from the Loop for Life Foundation.
  9. What is the overall percentage donated to the beneficiaries? We have been able to constantly donate over 70% of all donations (both rider and corporate) and have exceeded the 80% mark. So, 100% of every dollar donated or raised by the riders goes to the charities.
  10. Is the Loop for Life a rain or shine event? Yes, there is too much that is required to organize the Loop to arrange another day as a back up. In the ten years of the Loop for Life, rain has occurred however, it was mostly a minor inconvenience.
  11. Will I have to fill out a Release Form? Yes. Everyone who attends the Loop must fill out a Release Form. Children attending the Loop must have a parent or legal guardian fill out the release form.
  12. Are children allowed at the Loop? Yes, children are encouraged to attend. But you must fill out and sign a minor’s release form for each minor. Children 15 and younger are free.
  13. Can I get a refund if I register and decide not to attend? No, your Loop registration and donation is non-refundable and non-transferable. Keep in mind this is all for Charity.
  14. Which way are we going this year, Clockwise or Counter Clockwise? This is decided by the Sheriff's Department and it is based on construction. We sometimes do not know until the morning of the Loop. Sorry!
