Over twelve years ago we had an idea. Since that time we have rasied over one million dollars, have had more than 25,000 people attending an event called the Loop for Life. Personally, I would not have expected those numbers which have ultimately provided a significant impact to the charities we have supported.
We have witnessed the good from our donations and efforts which have impacted small children, kids in our community and now adults with a rare genetic disorder. Our hopes are to support research to find a cure for Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, which long term could cause complete loss of mobility and an inability to walk over a very short period of time.
This year we had some additional people volunteer as part of the organizing committee, which made an incredible difference impacting the event. From an organizational standpoint we still get kudos' from riders and this year it will be even better than in years past.
From a financial stand point we had help from some new staff volunteers resulting in new corporate sponsors and a decrease of 33% of the budgeted cost of the event. This year we are projecting that 81% of all collected revenue will go to our beneficiaries. What does this mean? Not only do all donations from riders go to charity but a large portion of the corporate sponsors will too. This large of a percentage of a donation is phenomenal and a lot of charity organizations have had trouble getting over the 60% mark.
Thank you, Motorcyclist and Hummer owners supporting this event, spreading the word with your friends and all the money you have either donated or collected. Your generosity is what makes this event possible and only provides us an opportunity to give back to the community to positively impact people who may not as fortunate as us.
